Imogen Heap

The songwriter performed in A Room for London on 22 June 2012

Watch Imogen Heap's performance below.

Imogen Heap's listening chair was in the foyer of the Royal Festival Hall during the weekend of 16 - 17 June 2012, and was used to crowdsource material to inspire a new song, 'You Know Where To Find Me'.

She wrote the beginnings of the song during her time aboard the boat and then performed the piece so far, in a surprise live show for the audience watching the stream on live relay in Southbank Centre.

Imogen is a British eclectic, eccentric and innovative musician considered by some the epitome of a digital diva. Her talent spans from the craft of songwriting to elaborate live multi-instrumental improvisations, building on a unique voice, classical training and unusual tech-saviness. Self produced, independent, engaged, she blurs the boundaries between pure art forms and creative entrepreneurship, and uses her knowledge of the web and social networking to communicate and collaborate with her loyal following in pioneering ways.

Much more than a studio rat, she is an accomplished performer having toured the world with 4 albums – iMegaphone, Speak for Yourself, Details (with Guy Sigsworth - Madonna and Bjork behind the scenes man, in electronica duo they formed called Frou Frou), and the latest Ellipse earning her a Grammy and Ivor Novello award. Her graceful tunes such as her signature track “Hide & Seek” populate movies and TV shows from The O.C. to the Chronicles of Narnia. Now, in demand and at the peak of already 15 years of diversified career experiences, she is enjoying exploring how her “musical ecosystem” can have a positive impact by getting involved in creative projects that think big and outside the box.
